| Why WHEB Partners? |
|
WHEB Partners has a unique combination of professionals with over 60 years of specialist experience in the commercialisation of energy and resource efficiency technologies, running businesses, venture and growth capital investment, mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy and advising governments on policy both domestically and internationally.
We are a energy and resource efficiency specialist investor providing growth stage equity funding. Our aim is to help experienced entrepreneurs and their management teams achieve their companies’ full growth potential and to maximize our fund investors’ returns on investment. We actively support each of our portfolio companies on their go-to-market strategy, business model, organisational structure and exit, whether through a trade sale or an IPO, and we bring to bear a second-to-none network of industrial, financial and government contacts built up over two decades. Where applicable, we can also help raise debt finance from banks and other debt providers.
We manage two specialist energy and resource efficiency funds: Fund 1 (2004/2005 vintage) and Fund 2 (2008 vintage). Assets under management to date total £130 million backed by some of the world’s leading investment institutions and family offices with a strong involvement in the environmental sector and related industries.
As an energy and resource efficiency specialist, our aim is also to demonstrate environmental returns. The environmental performance of our portfolio is measured annually by the US based Environmental Capital Group (ECG). ECG has developed this process for CalPERS and performs environmental portfolio reviews on 24 top quartile North American and European private equity and venture capital groups with about $9 billion of assets under management.
We benefit from being part of the WHEB Group. In addition to WHEB Partners, this comprises WHEB Asset Management, which invests in globally listed sustainable stocks, and WHEB Infrastructure Partners, which focuses on investment in European renewable energy projects. The WHEB Group has total assets under management of over £160 million.
